Love bits

“How you love yourself is how you teach others to love you.”
~ Rupi Kaur

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I know we’re all getting inundated with messages of love right now.

I want to keep my message simple, and offer a few tidbits, or better yet “love bits,” to focus on today:

1) The greatest love begins in our relationship with ourselves. (Learn how to deepen that love at the end of this email.)

2) In looking for love in dating, chuck all those lengthy “wish lists” you may have been taught to develop (and dull any date by interviewing a prospect as if he or she is applying for a job). Get out of your head and into your heart. Focus instead on your key values and these three feelings that will help you align with “a keeper”: feeling SAFE, SEEN, and CHERISHED.

3) Elaborating further, for those looking for or who are in a relationship they want to strengthen, my friend and colleague, Dr. Gary Salyer, author of Safe to Love Again, says these are the four feelings of secure and lasting love:

    • Welcomed with joy
    • Worthy and nourished
    • Cherished and protected
    • Empowered with choice

And, as we grow our relationships, I love this quote by Jay Shetty:
“Learning to love someone is more beautiful than being in love with them.”

Love also includes getting into the right mindset and respecting our bodies. In this new podcast interview with Anne Ventura, I share intimate details for releasing emotional stressors and moving into the elevated emotions that ignite our lives (and love) to new levels.

  • What a great blog (and podcast within)! Coach Gail is saying some deep truths in this blog. We all need to talk to ourselves like we are someone who is loved. I’m sure her workshop will be nothing short of life changing!!!! Great job my friend – Dr. Gary Salyer

    • Gail Kauranen Jones (“Coach Gail Jones”—Your worthiness expert) says:

Thank you, Gary: Glad you enjoyed my “love bits” accumulated over years of deep transformative work…I’m so excited to go deep with others quickly in my upcoming workshop, and hope others are inspired to buy your book as well. It’s full of your own hard-earned wisdom. You can’t fully teach it with authenticity until you integrate it:) Happy Valentine’s Day. Blessings, Gail

  • Gail says:

A beautiful UPDATE: I came across these quotes from Maya Angelou after posting my blog. Perfect inspirations for Valentine’s Day and beyond, on living from love:

    1) “Have enough courage to trust love one more time
    and always one more time.”

    2) “Love builds up the broken wall
    and straightens the crooked path.
Love keeps the stars in the firmament
and imposes rhythm on the ocean tides.
Each of is created of it and
    I suspect each of us
    was created for it.”

TO LOVE, in all its forms, today and always. Blessings, Gail
