Take two

“This is what life is about. We do not get redos, but we do get second chances.” ~ Jeffrey Fry.

It is not a movie, but a blog, in which you are seeing “Take two.” Like with all new beginnings, there are frequently some initial bumps.

My first “Welcome blog” announcing this new website that went out July 3rd did not reach my entire email list. Hopefully, for those of you who did not see it, you will click this link, (https://claimyourworthiness.com/welcome-to-a-new-world/) and read my initial message.

The error turned out to be a gift, as is often the case with challenges.  I learned that how we treat mistakes shows us much about our character, and our own sense of self-love and worthiness.

At first I was upset and hugely disappointed, for I had worked years on preparing the messages contained within this new site, and the introductory email was to be a huge celebration of that work. I could keep beating myself up that the launch was not perfect or I could lightheartedly blame it on Mercury retrograde, a planetary alignment some believes wreaks havoc with technology. I searched for the middle ground, by getting the error corrected and trusting that “everything happens for a reason.”

In the grand scheme, the blog distribution was a small mishap, but it triggered more significant times in my life when things did not go as planned and I wish I acted differently.

I’m sure you have many of those times in your life as well, especially in this great time of uncertainty. I find solace in these quotes:

  • “ I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do better.” – Mayo Angelou.
  • “ If you ever get a second chance in life for something, you’ve got to go all the way.”- Lance Armstrong
  • “Don’t think there are no second chances. Life always offers you a second chance. It’s called tomorrow.”  – Nicholas Sparks

Each time we can move from judgment to forgiveness and acceptance of ourselves for mistakes, we grow in worthiness. And, I want to extend those gifts of love to others now, too.

Blessings,

Gail

My friend, Sharon Spector, captured the precious photo of the two heart-shaped leaves while walking the beach in Sarasota, Florida. May all our “second chances” be so sweet.
